About Easter Monday

Easter Monday is known in Italy as Lunedì dell'Angelo, the Monday of the Angel, recalling the angel who announced the resurrection to the women at Jesus's tomb. It is more widely known by its popular name, Pasquetta, meaning little Easter.

Traditions

Pasquetta is traditionally a day for outings to the countryside, the hills or the seaside with friends and family. Picnics and grilled food are typical, often using leftovers from the Easter meal, and many towns organise outdoor events and fairs.
