All Saints' Day, Alla helgons dag, is a public holiday in Sweden held on the Saturday between 31 October and 6 November rather than on a fixed date. In Sweden it has become above all a day for remembering the dead, observed by people of all backgrounds.

Traditions

Families visit cemeteries to place lit candles and lanterns on the graves of relatives, and memorial groves are also filled with candles. At dusk the cemeteries glow with thousands of small lights, and many churches hold remembrance services and concerts.
